Mrs. Freshour7th Gade Science

Mrs. Freshour is a 7th Grade Science teacher at Silvestri Junior High. She has been teaching for twelve years, three years in Clark County and seven years in Chicago Public Schools while mentoring AUSL Residents. Mrs. Freshour earned her Bachelors in Education from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, home of the Salukis, in 2009. She then went on to teach informally at the local museums until she continued her education at National Louis University, earning a Masters in Urban Education. She completed her STEM certificate from Michigan State University in the Spring of 2016. She has also developed curriculum for Yale University about infectious diseases.
Mrs. Freshour strongly believes in making her practice public and sharing her teaching and learning from her students with others. Her passion is to challenge students critical thinking through real world science phenomena. Life Outside of School
Mrs. Freshour enjoys playing golf & ensuring that she wins against her husband, she likes the competition. Mrs. Freshour also enjoys traveling, watching baseball & college football & softball, gardening, shopping, crafting, photography, and baking. She has a Shih Tzu dog named Bogey and a Golden Doodle puppy name Ramsay. Mrs. Freshour also likes spending time with her family & friends too! |
